Hi Jacob, there are tools out there trying to build on social networking to generate new ideas or provide feedback about existing products and make them better (sort of incremental innovation). You probably know them already:

Another area is to use social networking tools within the organization to enhance collaboration among the employees. IBM is big on this, they call it call it collaborative innovation and what essentially means is to built a customized Facebook for a specific company.
My doubt about all these tools is how do you break the I believe 1-5% people contributing and everybody else just observing. How can we turn more people into creators and break the threshold.
