Hiroshi Tasaka has confirmed his presence as a speaker at iFest08.
Philosopher, engineer, teacher in the University Tama (Tokyo) and author of more than 40 books on the management of the work, business strategies, the Internet revolution and the models of social change.
In 2000, Tasaka both founded and became President of Think tank SophiaBank with the mission to incubate new social systems by fostering social entrepreneurs. SophiaBank is a worldwide network think tank that connects social entrepreneurs and acts as a âsocio-incubatorâ that encourages social entrepreneurs to create new social systems.
Tasaka explains social entrepreneurship and its benefits on the micro and macro scale. On the practical application side of being a social entrepreneur, Tasaka is one of the founders and a current Fellow of The Japan Research Institute (JRI). In 2003, Dr. Tasaka also established the Japan Social Entrepreneur Forum (JSEF) and became its President to foster and support social entrepreneurs in Japan. JSEF is a network organization where 12,000 social entrepreneurs exchange information, create actions and promote collaborations. In addition, he started an internet radio station called SophiaBank Radio Station, the first one by a think tank in Japan in 2006 to connect the activities of SophiaBank and those of JSEF. Tasaka put together a powerful and influential group of Japan Social Entrepreneur Forum partners to make his vision a reality.
